Retiring

It’s with a heavy heart that today I announce that I am retiring from designing.  In November there was a death in my family, and then a series of events that caused me to be unable to work for three weeks. Being that far behind caused me to reevaluate what’s important in my life, and I realized my heart isn’t into designing like it used to be.  I still love to design, but it isn’t a priority in my life like other things are.

For example, I really want to grow Real Life Scrapped and make it a one-stop place for everyone in scrapbooking world to connect, learn, and share. With everything that happened in November, I wasn’t even able to check the RLS site or my RLS email daily — which really upset me that problems could be unattended or spammers could be attacking the site. I still have a lot of work to do on RLS to make it the site I dream it can be.

Also, as some of you know, my grandpa has Parkinson’s Disease and being his advocate is a major part of my life.  PD has always been a part of my life, because before my grandpa — his mother had it, and I was close to her as well. I’m now helping lead our PD support group, and am an ambassador for the Michael J Fox Foundation. Helping people with PD and raising money for the cure is incredibly important to me now.

Why am I sharing all of this? Because I feel terrible that I’m ending something that has been a part of our lives for the last two years. As my followers, you also have invested your time in me and Ocean Wide Designs. I hate disappointing you! Who knows, I might be back for an occasional collab or guest spot… but I definitely need a break before I consider those options. I definitely will be releasing occasional freebies at Real Life Scrapped and Our Misadventures. I miss scrapping like I used to and would love to CT for other designers again.

My entire shop is on sale through the end of the year, PU/S4H is 60% off and CU is 50% off. I’ve also made three special bundles where you can buy all the PU/S4H, templates, or CU.

Thank you everyone for your support these last two years!! I look forward to seeing you around the digiworld :)

It sounds like you are really doing God’s lkind of work with pd, so don’t stop designing with a heavy heart, instead rejoice in the things you can do for God and look at it as a new adventure or a new chapter of your life. Scrap your own pictures, spend time with the ones you love. This is just a hobby and not nearly important enough to stop you from living your life. You can always make a freebie when you get the designing itch anytime you want to..

Meg I am so sorry to hear the sad news! I had the honor of knowing you shortly at GS. Praying for you and your family in this hard time. May G-d bless you and be with you!
